Ice pilotages of vessels in Vladivostok seaport

In connection with the intensive ice formation in Vladivostok seaport, and with the aim to provide navigation safety, life safety at sea, and environmental protection, by regulationi of the Vladivostok seaport master dated 25.12.2012 № 85 "On beginning of ice pilotage in the navigation areas of Vladivostok seaport" from 00.00 (Vladivostok time) December 31, 2012 start of ice pilotage for vessels within the boundaries of the Vladivostok seaport is announced and navigation regimes are set for vessels transporting cargo and passengers .

In accordance with the regulation of the Vladivostok seaport master the VTS Center of Vladivostok seaport, which at the moment is run by the FSUE "Rosmorport" Far-Eastern Branch as part of the Regional VTS of Peter the Great Bay after its withdrawal from JSC NORFES and securing to FSUE "Rosmorport" on the basis of economic control rights, has the right to arrange navigation in the water area of the Vladivostok seaport in case of intense ice formation and compaction in the fairways of the Bosfor Vostochny straits, taking into consideration the actual ice conditions, and using areas with minimum ice thickness and compaction. Turining aside the established fairways should be safe for navigation, and as minimal, as possible.
