Kaliningrad Seaport Boundaries Changed

Under Resolution No 1172-r dated June 06, 2017, the Russian government took a decision to change the boundaries of the seaport of Kaliningrad.

The change of the boundaries of the seaport of Kaliningrad is conditioned by the construction of the R-LNG terminal (regasified liquefied natural gas) with a capacity of up to 2.0 million tons per year.

Earlier, under Resolution No 979-r of the Government of Russia dated May 23, 2016, the boundaries of the seaport of Kaliningrad also included land plots designed for building the mentioned terminal.

The project for constructing the regasifying liquefied natural gas terminal is carried out jointly by Gazprom Invest LLC and FSUE “Rosmorport” in accordance with the agreement on cooperation for the period of the project. The agreement was signed in August 2016.

At present, FSUE “Rosmorport” is joining efforts aimed at coordinating project documentation worked out under order of Gazprom Invest LLC. After coordination the project documentation will be sent to the Federal Autonomous Institution “Glavgosexpertiza Rossii” (Russia's State Expert Review Board) to undergo state expert reviews.

Subject to positive state expert reviews and the provision of the required amount of financing the construction and installation works under the project are to be completed in December 2017.
