Kronshlot Dredging Vessel Transfer to the North-Western Basin Branch Management

In accordance with FSUE “Rosmorport” Order No. 431 dated 06.09.2016, Kronshlot self-propelled self-unloading dredger of the TSHD 1000 project with drag head and hold capacity 1000 m3 was transferred to the North-Western Basin Branch Management.

Kronshlot vessel became the second dredger of the same project, which is operated by the North-Western Basin Branch, built at the production facilities of PAO “Krasnoe Soromovo “Plant”, and the 56th vessel in the fleet of the branch.

The vessel arrived in the seaport Big Port of Saint Petersburg in early September after the successful completion of sea trials. Currently, the branch formalizes a set of documents for issuance of the vessel classification certificate. It is expected that after receipt of the necessary permitting documents, the vessel will head for the seaport of Ust-Luga in the middle of October 2016.

With Kronshlot dredging vessel the branch will carry out dredging in the water areas and on the approaches to the seaport of Ust-Luga and Kaliningrad. The installed onboard equipment allows performing dredging with the use of pumps with capacity of up to 1,000 cubic meters of excavated soil per hour. Also, a clamshell crane with capacity of 20 tons and a bucket with capacity of 7 cubic meters are installed on the board. The vessel can excavate silt, sand and sandy loam to a depth of 20 meters. The excavated during dredging soil is collected in the vessel hold with volume of 1000 m3, and then, after its delivery by the vessel to specially designated areas, is discharged. Unloading of the vessel can be carried out both through the bottom doors or by discharging of soil mixed with water at a distance of 60 meters, by or aggradation on shore or barge through a slurry pipeline connection.

Kronshlot Dredging vessel can operate at a water temperature between -2 ° C to + 20 ° C. The stabilization device is automatically supported on the ground, which ensures the normal operation of the vessel during oscillation. The vessel is able to enter and stay in the sea with waves up to 3 meters.
