Krutoyar Ice Class Buoy Boat Transferred to the North-Western Basin Branch Management

In accordance with FSUE “Rosmorport” Order No. 420 dated 01.09.2016, Krutoyar ice class buoy boat of 02780M project was transferred to the management of the North-Western Basin Branch.

The boat became the seventh vessel of navigation support, which are currently operated by the North-Western Basin Branch in Russian seaports of the eastern Gulf of Finland, and the 55th vessel of the Branch’s fleet.

The vessel arrived in the seaport of Big Port Saint Petersburg on August 26, 2016 after successful sea trials and currently is preparing to move to the seaports of Vyborg and Vysotsk, where it will start keeping its watch.

With the help of Krutoyar buoy boat the branch will carry out installation and removal of floating aids to navigation on the approaches and in the seaports of Vyborg and Vysotsk water areas, as well as, if necessary, on shallow water channels and in some parts of the seaport Big Port of Saint Petersburg.

The buoy boat is equipped with manipulator crane with capacity of 5 tons, capable of ensuring installation and removal of average C-3 or MB-780 type sea buoys equipped with an anchor device and anchor weighing 2 tons. Dimensions of the boat deck allow for simultaneous maintenance of two average C-3 or MB-780 type sea buoys or four small BMM-P type sea buoys type equipped with an anchor and anchor device.

Ice class of the vessel allows it to operate in winter conditions, and to carry out an independent navigation in broken ice with thickness up to 20 cm.
