Boundaries of Kaliningrad Seaport Expanded

By order No.979-r of the Russian Government dated 23.05.2016 decision was made on expansion of boundaries of the seaport of Kalinigrad by inclusion in its borders of land plots intended for the construction of sea regasification terminal for liquefied natural gas with capacity to 2.3 million tons per year, located in the Zelenograd district of the Kaliningrad region.

As a part of this investment project, which is implemented by LLC "Gazprom invest", it is planned to construct:

- mooring post – breakwater for mooring regasification vessel of liquefied natural gas (LNG) with a loading platform for placing  pig launcher;

- gas pipeline from pig launcher to the tie-in point to gas-pipe -  outlet to the Kaliningrad underground storage of gas from the gas pipeline “Vilnius – Kaliningrad”;

- facilities included in the infrastructure of the main gas pipeline.

It is planned that FSUE “Rosmorport” will participate in the implementation of the investment project in creation of the sea terminal facilities of the navigation safety system, consisting of: navigation light, navigation fire at the sea terminal, radar lighthouse – responder, lighted buoys. The corresponding cooperation agreement between FSUE
Rosmorport” and LLC “Gazprom invest” is planned to be signed.

 Provided receiving positive conclusions of state expertise on developed documentation for construction of the sea terminal and allocating the required funding, the start of construction works under the project is planned not earlier than 2017 when the designing is completed.
