Northern Approach Channel in Water Area of the Seaport of Ust-Luga Put Into Operation

According to authorization No.47-30-0273-2016MC of the Ministry of Transport of Russia dated April 11, 2016 previously constructed Northern approach channel in the seaport of Ust-Luga has been put into operation.

The construction of the channel for  FSUE “Rosmorport” which was carried out from November 2010 to December 2014 in the frame of subprogram “Sea transport” of the Federal Target Program “Russian Transport System Development (2010-2020)” to ensure safe navigation and the passage of large tankers to terminals No. 1 to 7 of the oil terminals in the seaport of Ust-Luga.

In the course of construction the channel was formed with the length of 5.93 km,  width of 205 m, depth of 17.5 m on plots No.1, No.2, No.3 and the rectilinear part of the channel, and depths of 18 meters at station No.4 and on the turn of the channel.

The total amount of the soil excavated during the dredging works amounted to about 8.6 million tonnes.

The cost of implementing this investment project, in turn, amounted to almost 1.59 billion rubles of budget investments, as well as 6.4 million rubles of own funds.
