Changes in Procedure for Providing Works on Collecting, Transporting, Neutralizing and Disposing Shipboard Wastes in the Seaport Big Port Saint Petersburg

Order of the North-Western Basin Branch No. 1085 dated 15.11.2016 introduced changes to the procedure of works in the seaport Big Port Saint Petersburg water area on collecting, transporting, neutralizing or disposing shipboard wastes generated during normal vessel operation and liable to be disposed of continuously or periodically (except for ballast water, waste related to cargo, waste related to cargo and fuel tank stripping)  during all the time of stay of vessels, which pay ecological dues in accordance with the established procedure in the seaport Big Port Saint Petersburg, in the port. 

The need in amended document was caused by North-Western Basin Branch enhancing activities in the field of shipboard waste, as well as due to necessity of the principles alignment in accordance with the amended Rules of Harbour Dues Rates Application in the seaports of the Russian Federation, and are established by FAS of Russia Order No. 223/16 dated 10.03.2016.

The amended document has updated list of vessels that are exempt from payment of ecological dues in the seaport Big Port Saint Petersburg, as well as established restrictions on the amount of sewage water (domestic and feces), oily water and garbage delivered by shipping agent.
