Reconstructed Big Kronshtadt Road Commissioned in the Big Port of Saint-Petersburg

In accordance with Rosmorrechflot Regulation dated 28.10.2014 No. RU77203000-AD-39/35 the reconstructed Big Kronshtadt Road was set in operation in the Big Port of Saint-Petersburg.

The reconstruction, provided by the federal target program “Development of the Transport System of Russia (2010-2020)” with FSUE “Rosmorport” as the manager and developer of the project, took place during the period December 2012 to November 2013. During the dredging 428 thous.m3 of soil was extracted, and the federal budget investments into those works reached almost 205 million roubles.

In the framework of the reconstruction project the enterprise created a widening at the Litke-Zapadny canal in order to provide safe maneuvering for a Containerships-VII-type design vessel with the deadweight of 13.8 thous.tons and the following overall dimensions: length – 158.8 m, breadth – 21.8 m, loaded draught – 8.9 m at the entrance to the canal, in accordance with the recommendations of pilotage service elaborated during their work at the canal. Besides, FSUE “Rosmorport” formed a turning area with the diameter of 560 m and the bottom level of -11.5 m in order to ensure safe passage for the design vessel during transition from the Kronshtadt Ship fairway to the Litke-Zapadny canal and backwards. Also an anchoring station with the diameter of 530 m and the bottom level of -11.5 m was made for temporary mooring of the design vessel at its own anchor before entring the Litke-Zapadny canal.
