Session for Ports and Shipping Safety and Security of the 4th International Ports and Shipping Conference

Session for Ports and Shipping Safety and Security of the 4thInternational Ports and Shipping Conference took place in Saint-Petersburg within the 12th TRANSTEC 2014 Big Ports and Shipping Event for Russia. Representatives from transport safety and security departments of North-Western Basin Branch participated in the conference.

The session, during which the most topical questions related to seaports and shipping transport safety and security were discussed, roused a great deal of interest among the transport safety and security specialists taking part in the conference.

The head of the North-Western Basin Branch security department Mikhail Karpenko made a report on the topic “Issues of interdepartmental interaction arrangement. Necessity of amendments and additions to be made for the regulatory support of transport safety and security sphere”.

In his speech Mikhail Karpenko pointed out the main issues related to Federal law “On transport safety” realization, and presented to the participants real-life features of organization of transport infrastructure object interaction with the state regulatory and supervisory authorities in the sphere of transport safety and security provision.

In the end of the breakout session the participants shared opinions on the most interesting questions of efficient organization of departments operation and transport safety and security provision at transport infrastructure objects in seaports.
