Chairman of the Government of the Astrakhan region met with the director of the Astrakhan branch
Chairman of the Government of the Astrakhan region Oleg Knyazev and acting Minister of industry and natural resources of the Astrakhan region Ilya Volynsky visited the Astrakhan branch of FSUE "Rosmorport" on April 5, 2022 and had a business meeting with the director of the Astrakhan branch Alexander Kim as well as with acting head of FSUE "Administration of Caspian Seaports" Nikolai Kovalev and the captain of the Astrakhan seaport Eduard Elizarov.
Representatives of the Government of the Astrakhan region got acquainted with the work of the Astrakhan branch of FSUE "Rosmorport" and FSUE "Administration of Caspian Seaports", considered issues of navigation safety in the water area of seaports Astrakhan and Olya, prospects of development of the international transport corridor "North-South" and discussed the progress of repair dredging in the water area of the Volga-Caspian sea shipping channel, as well as issues of the planned reconstruction of the Volga-Caspian sea shipping channel, associated with an increase in the draft of vessels up to 4.5 meters.
During the meeting the participants also discussed issues related to organization of towing of the first stage of LLC "LUKOIL-Nizhnevolzhskneft"'s large facilities from the Astrakhan seaport to their installation site in the vicinity of the field named after V. Grayfer, touched upon issues of formation of personnel reserve, support of young specialists, interaction with industry educational institutions on training specialists, vocational guidance and attracting them to the profession in the field of sea and river transport.
In the final part of the meeting, the parties exchanged views on a wide range of issues of current and future development of the region, and agreed on further operational cooperation in solving all issues that the participants discussed during the meeting.
As part of the planned protocol activities, the participants of the meeting visited the vessel traffic control service of the Astrakhan branch, where they watched in real time the work of Astrakhan VTS operators.
