In connection with partial release of the seaport of Astrakhan water area, Volga-Caspian Marine Shipping Canal and Astrakhan roadstead from ice an unassisted navigation under icebreakers’ control for vessels with Ice Class is allowed in the seaports of Astrakhan and Olya water area, Volga-Caspian Marine Shipping Canal and Astrakhan roadstead since 00:00 of 18.03.2011, according to the FSE “Administration of the Seaport of Astrakhan” order dated 17.03.2011 № 27.

The FSUE “Rosmorport” Astrakhan branch icebreaker called Kapitan Metsayk implements navigation in the seaport of Astrakhan, icebreakers Kapitan Bukaev and Kapitan Chechkin execute navigation in the seaport of Olya water area and on the Astrakhan roadstead.
