In connection with ice processes slackening and weather conditions improvement by the order of FSE “Administration of the Seaport of Astrakhan” dated 05.03.2011 № 24 from 00:00 of 06.03.2011 navigation restrictions for Ice 1 Class vessels (ЛУ 1, Л 4) aged 30 years and older in the seaports of Astrakhan and Olya and on the Volga-Caspian marine shipping canal have been lifted.

During winter navigation from January till March 2011 the Astrakhan branch icebreakers Capitan Chechkin, Capitan Bukaev and Capitan Metsaik implemented 45 icebreaker assistances for 399 vessels on the Volga-Caspian marine shipping canal calling at/leaving the seaports of Astrakhan and Olya.
