The FSUE “Rosmorport” Arkhangelsk Branch has become a participant of the Fifth All-Russian competition of the best regional environmental routine “Reliable Partner – Ecology”.

The competition is held by the Reliable Partner Association together with the Russian Ecological Society with the support of the Federation Council Committee on Agrarian and Food Policy and Environmental Management. Executive authorities of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation, federal and municipal enterprises, companies and enterprises of various organizational and legal forms and forms of ownership have the right to participate in it.

The competition is aimed at helping federal and regional authorities in the effective implementation of the activities of the Ecology national project in discovering the most successful and effective environmental routines and projects for their further replication and scaling throughout the country.

The Arkhangelsk Branch submitted its project to the competition in the nomination “The best project to reduce negative impact of industrial enterprises and enterprises of housing and utility sector on water bodies”.

The project outlines the branch's practice of transferring autonomous power of navigation equipment (leading beacons, buoys, milestones) from massive manganese-zinc batteries to LR20 batteries and solar panels. With such a modernization of the navigation equipment, the annual volume of waste generated (in the form of spent batteries) has decreased by more than 11 times.

According to the rules of the competition, after submitting applications, an online voting started on October 2, 2023 and will last until October 22, 2023 inclusive.
