Arkhangelsk Branch Major Activities

     In accordance with the Statute of the FSUE “Rosmorport” Arkhangelsk Branch, the principal aims of the branch are as follows: 
     • Creation, maintenance, operation and development of federal property assigned to the FSUE "Rosmorport" Arkhangelsk branch; 
     • Executing of works (rendering services) in the seaports of Arkhangelsk, Onega, Mezen, Naryan-Mar; 
     • Implementation of federal target programs of marine transport development. 

     To fulfill the set targets, the FSUE “Rosmorport” Arkhangelsk branch carries out the following types of activity, permitted by its Statute: 

     - arranges efficient use of federal property assigned to the Arkhangelsk Branch;

     - leases property assigned to the Arkhangelsk Branch, sees that it is safe, properly maintained, and used appropriately and efficiently, and also that the lessees meet terms and conditions of their leasing contracts;

     - ensures safe operation of the hydraulic engineering structures, navigation safety system and other port infrastructure objects assigned to the Arkhangelsk Branch in Arkhangelsk, Mezen, Naryan-Mar, and Onega seaports;

     - participates in working out and approval of the integrated development of projects for Arkhangelsk, Mezen, Naryan-Mar, Onega and Sabetta seaports, reconstruction, modernization and technical re-equipment of transport and technological transshipment complexes and other facilities and structures of coastal port infrastructure of Arkhangelsk, Mezen, Naryan Mar and Onega seaports;

     - acts as a client for construction, modernization, reconstruction and technical equipment of transshipment complexes in Arkhangelsk, Onega, Mezen, Naryan-Mar and Sabetta seaports, and also other objects and structures of coastal and port infrastructure;

     - arranges designer and technical supervision of construction, participates in state committees on the choice of construction sites and putting port objects into operation;

     - carries out repair, modernization and new construction of hydraulic engineering structures, buildings,  staff facilities and other port objects, including transshipment complexes and terminals in Arkhangelsk, Mezen,  Naryan-Mar, Onega and Sabetta seaports;

     - maintains in proper condition, provides functioning, conducts modernization and new construction of navigation safety systems, including the Global Marine Distress and Safety System (GMDSS) facilities and coast station NAVTEX system, located in the water areas and territory of Arkhangelsk seaport, vessel anchorages, roads, fairways and its approaches;

     - performs installation and technical maintenance of aids to navigation in approach channels and the water areas of Arkhangelsk, Mezen, Naryan-Mar, Onega and Sabetta seaports, as well as carries out repair of electro-flickering and flash equipment;

     - carries out survey and dredging works to ensure the safety of navigation;

     - carries out maintenance and repair of icebreakers, vessels of the dredging and auxiliary fleet, financing its construction;

     - carries out repair, technical and all-operational service as well as ships chandling for the vessels of the branch;

     - renders services to vessels on the approaches and in the waters of Arkhangelsk, Mezen, Naryan-Mar, and Onega seaports for their safe navigation, maneuvering and mooring, in particular:

          a) provides VTS information, including information on current weather conditions in Arkhangelsk seaport;

          b) provides pilotage of vessels in Arkhangelsk, Naryan-Mar and Onega seaports;

          c) performs towage services, mooring and vessel re-anchoring in Arkhangelsk, Naryan-Mar and Onega seaports;

          d) provides icebreaker pilotages in the water area of the Northern Sea Route, in the White and Barents Seas;

          e) provides boat to ship’s crew whose ships laying off;

          f) provides ice advisors' services, such as giving recommendations and advice to vessels masters on safe handling of ships of all types in convoys with icebreakers or on their own in ice conditions of the Baltic Sea;

     - conducts communication activities, in particular provides communication services for granting communication channels;

     - provides safety of transport in the water area of Arkhangelsk seaport;

     - participates in emergency and rescue works;

     - carries out navigational and hydrographic support of sailing in the waters of Arkhangelsk, Mezen, Naryan-Mar and Onega seaports;

     - provides pilotage of vessels in the water area of the Northern Sea Route;

     - provides economic and information security for the branch.
