Installation of Floating Warning Signs in the Seaport of Sabetta

On July 18, 2016 Specialists of the Arkhangelsk Branch Sea Channels Service with the involvement of Kapitan Chadaev icebreaker installed two floating warning signs of the seaport of Sabetta “Vorota Arktiki” arctic export sea terminal operational water area fencing, which is located near the Kamenny Cape of the Gulf of Ob.

In accordance with the navigation aids floating equipment positioning scheme approved by the Captain of the seaport of Sabetta, the installed lighted buoys No. 1 and No. 2 are intended for fencing ten-meter isobath of the operational water area to ensure safe approach of tankers to “Vorota Arktiki” sea terminal.

For reference:
Novoportovskoye oil and gas field is located in the South-Eastern part of the Yamal Peninsula, 250 to the north from Nadym and 30 km off the Gulf of Ob coastline.

Oil from the Novoportovskoye field flows to the Gulf of Ob coastline through oil pipeline with length over 100 km. “Vorota Arktiki”  sea oil-tanker export  terminal is placed directly in the sea – 3.5 km off the coastline.
