Makhachkala Coastal Station of GMDSS Sea Area A2 successfully undergoes regular examination

Based on the results of Rosmorrechflot’s inspection FSUE “Rosmorport” has received Certificate of Conformity No 17.1730774А.141 of June 22, 2017. This is the certificate of conformity of Makhachkala Coastal Station of GMDSS Sea Area A2 to IMO Resolution No 801(19) and Russia’s Transport Ministry Order No 226 of July 23, 2015.

Earlier, in 2012, the Makhachkala Coastal Station also successfully underwent examination and received confirmation of its conformity to the existing requirements imposed on the work of this equipment in the GMDSS system.

The Makhachkala Coastal Station of GMDSS Sea Area A2 comprised of the control center located in Makhachkala, the transmitting radio center located in the area of the Oil Harbor of the seaport of Makhachkala and the receiving radio center located in the settlement of Sulak was put into operation in 2004.

The station’s basic equipment includes UHF/HF transmitters, DSC controllers, radio relay communication lines, antenna and feeder installations and other equipment and provides functioning and the work of GMDSS facilities.

The radio station range is 150 nautical miles.

The Makhachkala Coastal Station of GMDSS Sea Area A2
- keeping radio watch and radio contracts with vessels on the GMDSS frequencies in the PV range;
- maintaining operative communication between vessels and the maritime rescue coordination center of FSBI “The Administration of Seaports of the Caspian Sea” to organize rescue operations;
- carrying out procedures for processing signals of distress, urgency and security by using the digital selective call with vessels at sea within the area the boundary of which has been determined according to the criteria established by the International Maritime Organization for coastal radio station of GMDSS Sea Area A2 and for ensuring security.
