     1. General information
 
     The Kaliningrad Department of the North-Western Basin Branch carries out loading and unloading operations and provides other services at the railway ferry complex in the town of Baltiysk (further referred to as the Complex) and at the facilities of the first stage of the international sea terminal for receiving cruise and cargo-passenger vessels in the area of ​​Pionersky (further referred to as the Sea Terminal) in the seaport of Kaliningrad.

     General information about the Complex

     At the Complex, the Kaliningrad Department offers the following services:
  • reception and handling of sea ferries;
  • cargo transshipment according to various schemes;
  • cargo unpacking;
  • cargo aggregation and storage in outdoor areas;
  • cargo (un)securing.
     At the railway and ferry complex it is possible to transship:
  • RO-RO cargoes, including railway carriages and passenger cars;
  • bulk-loaded cargoes according to direct scheme;
  • general cargoes (in containers, big bags, carriages).
 
     The Complex includes a railway ferry berth with a railway lifting bridge, which ensures connection of the berth to the Rider-type and СNF19М-type ferries, as well as reception of loading ramps from RO-RO ships.  
     The Complex berth wall length is 236.18 metres and the alongside depth is 10.5 metres allowing to handle ferries with the length of up to 200 metres and the draught of up to 9.4 metres. The Complex also has:
  • a railway measuring 7.1 km, where it is possible to place more than 200 railway carriages at a time;
  • a ramp extension for loading passenger cars into railway carriages, allowing to load 18 carriages at 2 levels at a time;
  • aggregation areas for motor transport measuring 10.5 thous. m2 with an approach road;
  • an open warehouses measuring 32.27 thous. m2;
  • covered storage areas measuring 0.33 thous. m2;
  • checkpoints for detailed examination of railway carriages and motor transport.
     The Complex is also equipped with Komatsu FD forklift trucks having the carrying capacities of 7 tons and 2.5 tons, and with a Kalmar TRX-182 towing tractor.
     The capacities of the Complex allow to handle up to 5.3 mln tons of cargoes per year, or more than 123 thous. carriages per year.
 


     General information about the Sea Terminal


     At the Sea Terminal, the Kaliningrad Department offers the following services:

  • reception and handling of sea ferries;
  • cargo transshipment according to various schemes;
  • cargo aggregation and storage in outdoor areas;
  • cargo (un)securing.

     At the railway and ferry complex it is possible to transship RO-RO cargo, including railway carriages and passenger cars, as well as general and bulk-loaded cargo according to direct scheme (vessel — vehicle).


     The Sea Terminal includes berth No. 1, a shore ramp and an operational water area with an area of 30.3 thous. m2 which ensure the safe reception and handling of vessels with RO-RO cargo.

     The length of the berth front at the Sea Terminal is 163.9 m, the depth at the berth is 7.5 m, which currently allows handling cargo-passenger vessels up to 191 m long, 26 m wide and with a loaded draft of up to 7 m. At the territory of the Sea Terminal, there is a storage area for motor vehicles with an access road with a total area of 14 thous. m2 and a capacity of 74 vehicles.

     To ensure loading and unloading operations, the terminal has two terminal tractors.

     The capacities of the Sea Terminal allow to handle up to 20 thous. standard cargo trucks per year.



     Handling operations are performed at the Complex and the Sea Terminal by the professional team of the Complex Operation Service and the Sea Terminal Operation Service of the North-Western Basin Branch Kaliningrad Department which ensure high quality of the services provided.


     2. Procedures for the provision of loading and unloading operations
 
     Procedures for the provision of loading and unloading operations at the Complex
 
     Loading and unloading operations at the Complex are performed by the Kaliningrad Department of the North-Western Basin Brach in accordance with the cargo transshipment contract (further referred to as Contract).
     To make a Contract the client shall file an application to the Kaliningrad Departement of the North-Western Basin Branch by fax: +7 (4012) 36-21-02 or e-mail: mail@kld.rosmorport.ru. Within 3 working days from receipt of the application together with the documents required for making a Contract, and provided that it is technically possible to perform the requested services, the Kaliningrad Department of the North-Western Basin Branch sends a formal Contract to the client for signing. The client shall return a signed Contract to the Kaliningrad Department of the North-Western Basin Branch.
     The cargo transshipment services are performed by the Kaliningrad Department of the North-Western Basin Branch in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Contract.

     Procedures for the provision of loading and unloading operations at the Sea Terminal

 

     Loading and unloading operations at the Sea Terminal are performed by the Kaliningrad Department of the North-Western Basin Brach in accordance with the cargo transshipment contract (further referred to as Contract).

     To make a Contract the client shall file an application to the Kaliningrad Departement of the North-Western Basin Branch by e-mail: mail@kld.rosmorport.ru . Within 3 days from receipt of the application together with the documents required for making a Contract, and provided that it is technically possible to perform the requested services, the Kaliningrad Department of the North-Western Basin Branch sends a formal Contract to the client for signing. The client shall return a signed Contract to the Kaliningrad Department of the North-Western Basin Branch.

     The cargo transshipment services at the Sea Terminal are performed by the Kaliningrad Department of the North-Western Basin Branch in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Contract.
