In accordance with resolution of Rosmorrechflot No. 47-RU47507308-ZD-39/56-2022 dated 29.07.2022, the constructed water area of the Southern district in the Seaport of Ust-Luga was put into operation.

The construction of the facility was carried out by the enterprise from September 2008 to December 2019 at the expense of the federal budget. The total amount of budget investments for the implementation of the project for the construction of the water area of the Southern district amounted to more than 2 billion rubles.

As part of the project for the construction of the water area of the Southern district, four plots with a total area of 73.9 hectares were formed.

Section No. 1 of the water area of the Southern district with an area of 18.5 hectares and bottom marks of -12.8 m provides a safe approach and maneuvering of design vessels of the "Astrakhan" type with a length of 173.5 m, a width of 23 m and a draft of 10 m in cargo, following to the berths of the multidisciplinary transshipment complex.

Section No. 2 of the water area of the Southern district with an area of 7.8 hectares and bottom marks from -12 m (on an area of 6 hectares) to -10.3 m (on an area of 1.8 hectares) provides safe approach and maneuvering of design vessels of the type "SL-7" and "SO-14" with a length of up to 152 m, a width of up to 22.8 meters and a draft the cargo is up to 9 meters, following to the berths of the timber transshipment complex.

Section No. 3 of the water area of the Southern District with an area of 0.7 hectares and bottom marks of -5 m provides safe approach and maneuvering of design vessels with a length of 23.8 m, a width of 5 m, and a draft of 1.4 m in cargo, following berths No. 1, 2, 3, 4 of the base of the supporting fleet under construction at the mouth of the Khabolovka River.

Section No. 4 of the water area of the Southern District with an area of 46.9 hectares and bottom marks of -10 m provides safe approach and maneuvering of design vessels with a length of 116 m, a width of 26.5 m, and a draft of 8.6 m in cargo, following to berth No. 5 of the base of the supporting fleet.

The implementation of the project made it possible to ensure safe navigation conditions for vessels with dimensions not exceeding the design parameters following the terminals of the Southern district of the Ust-Luga seaport.
