Representatives of the North-Western Basin Branch took part in the forum "Ecology of the Metropolis"

On September 17, 2020 the representatives of the North-Western Basin Branch took part in the forum "Ecology of the Metropolis" and in the exhibition "Ecology of the Big City", which were held at the EXPOFORUM congress and exhibition center in Saint Petersburg.

The forum is aimed at promotion and implementation of innovative environmental protection equipment and resource saving technologies in Russia, which contribute to the development of nature conservation, strengthening environmental safety and improvement of the quality of life of the population in big cities. Within the framework of these events, the conference "Relevant issues of sewage water treatment on transport objects" was held.

Head of the Environmental Security Service of the North-Western Basin Branch Svyatoslav Smirnov made a report on "Collection of oil-containing and waste waters from vessels in the ports of the Eastern part of the Gulf of Finland". In his speech, he spoke about the regulations and organization of the disposal of wastewater, oil-containing water and solid domestic waste from vessels and their transportation to burial grounds and waste water treatment and refining facilities using the example of the seaports of Big Port of Saint Petersburg and Ust-Luga.

The participants of the conference discussed current problems of wastewater treatment at transport facilities, including specific examples of applied technologies, equipment, treatment facilities, including the problems of delivery of bilge and domestic wastewater formed on vessels.
