The management of Russian Railways JSC met with representatives of stevedoring organizations of Russia’s Northwest on April 23, 2019. The meeting was chaired by Russian Railways JSC Director-General, head of the branded transport service center Alexei Shilo. The meeting involved heads of the branches and subsidiaries of Russian Railways, JSC and representatives of FSUE “Rosmorport”, railway transport enterprises and operators of sea terminals.

The participants in the meeting discussed measures to perform the legal framework of relations between Russian Railways, JSC and enterprises carrying out the activities in seaports, the need to increase cargo shipping through the Baltic Sea Basin ports, as well as interaction between Russian Railways, JSC and the seaports and sea terminals of the Baltic Sea Basin.

On instruction from the FSUE “Rosmorport” General Director, deputy director of the North-Western Basin Branch, head of the Kaliningrad Directorate Andrei Moshkov gave a report on the development and the current state of the infrastructure of the Baltic Sea Basin ports.

The participants in the meeting noted the need to join efforts aimed at working out a long-term comprehensive program for developing the seaports’ infrastructure and coordinating it with the railways’ infrastructure adjacent to the harbor and the trunk infrastructure.
