Capital construction facilities put into operation in the seaport of Ust Luga

Pursuant to Rosmorrechflot Permit No 47-RU47507302-ZD-39/62-2019 of December 30, 2019 the Luzhsky western channel and the Luzhsky marine western mark have been into operation in the seaport of Ust Luga.

The Luzhsky western channel that FSUE “Rosmorport” had ordered as a customer has been constructed at the expense of the federal budget.

The Luzhsky western channel is of 2.57 km in length, 160 m in breadth and -14 m in the bottom’s mark. Totally, dredging operations for the construction of the channel amounted to about 1.5 million cubic meters of bottom soil.

The channel is designed for safe movement in the water area of the seaport of Ust Luga by ships such as the NO-50 type tanker with the design parameters of up to 183.4 m in length, up to 32.2 m in breadth and up to 11 m in load draught on the range beacon in the direction of 307,6° - 127,6° moving to berths of transshipping hubs in the seaport of Ust Luga.

Simultaneously with the construction of the channel in the seaport, the Luzhsky marine western mark was being built. It is designed for indicating an axe of the Luzhsky western channel to organize safe movement of vessels.

The range beacon, which has been built to the expense of federal budget, includes the front range beacon with the height of 35 m and the rear range beacon with the height of 30 m combined with the Port automatic radar post of the seaport of Ust Luga.

The implementation of the project for building the Luzhsky western channel and the Luzhsky marine western mark ensured safe navigation in the water area of design vessels putting calls at the seaport of Ust Luga while they move to berths of transshipping hubs in the northern part of the Eastern District of the seaport of Ust Luga.
