Press Сonference On The Return Of Mir Training Sailing Ship From Sea Expedition

A press conference on the return of the Mir training sailing ship from the sea expedition, attended by Deputy Director for Economics and Finances of the North-Western Basin Branch Nadezhda Kalashnik, captain of the Mir sailing ship Andrey Orlov, rector of State University of Maritime and River Fleet n.a. admiral S. O. Makarov Sergey Baryshnikov and vice-rector of the university Viktoria Marich, was held in the “Interfax North West” press center on October 14, 2015.

At the conference there were discussed details of the five-month sea expedition of the sailing ship, which had been carried out from April 28 to September 28, 2015.

Representatives of the North-Western Basin Branch gave to the participants of the conference a detailed account of how the cadet crew for the practical training had been formed, which Russian and foreign seaports the sailing ship had visited and in which significant global events had participated, and also elaborated about the long-term plans on organisation of expeditions of the sailing ship during navigation of 2016.

Mir training sailing ship, having successfully completed navigation if 2015, in the nearest future will go to the ship repair yard in the city of Svetly of the Kaliningrad region for annual planned repair and modernisation.
