LLC “Baltic Stevedoring Company” under implementation of joint investment project with FSUE “Rosmorport” for the development of cargo-passenger, car ferry and railway ferry terminals in the seaport of Kaliningrad, including the construction and subsequent operation of the container terminal with a capacity of 300 thousand TEU, has put the advanced container inspection station and storage of empty containers into operation, thus completing the next stage of the investment project. 

The advanced container inspection station can significantly reduce the inspection time by increasing the number of concurrently serviced transport up to 16 units, and also provides the possibility of inspection and temporary storage of reefer containers with cargo, requiring special temperature regimes.

An area used for storage of empty containers, general break bulk and ro-ro cargoes on the North side of the harbor with an area of 1.8 hectares, allows to improve the logistics of transporting the cargo for loading/unloading and to optimize traffic routes on the territory of the terminal.

Under implementation of the investment project it is planned to further develop the container terminal to increase its capacity to 300 thousand TEU by creating the necessary infrastructure, reconstruction of existing cargo berths, construction of new berth with a ramp, and dredging in the operational water area of the terminal.

LLC “Baltic Stevedoring Company” in accordance with the obligations under the investment agreement provides the construction of buildings and structures of the checkpoint, cargo storage site and truck parking lot, and also domestic and rain wastewater treatment facilities.

For its part, FSUE “Rosmorport” provides:
- reconstruction of berth No.2 with the construction of under-crane tracks;
- reconstruction of berth No.1 with frontal and matched sections in the cargo-passenger car ferry complex;
- construction of berth No.3 with a ramp;
- construction of bank protection facilities;
- construction of the navigation facilities;
- dismantling of giant arrays and dredging in the operational water area 3 of the Baltic freight area.
