Russian Maritime Register of Shipping on June 9, 2014 delegated to the North-Western Basin Branch the right to use in 2014 the mark of conformity of the safety management system of the shipping company (SMS).
 
The mark of conformity of SMS is a protected in a certain way mark used by the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping to encourage shipping companies that have achieved success in the proper management of the safety of their vessels.
 
Transfer of the right to use the mark of conformity of SMS to North-Western Basin Branch is the confirmation from the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping of the high reputation of the branch regarding the safety of its vessels in the preceding period, and the lack of accidents, deaths or injuries of people and detentions of vessels of the branch in 2013.
 
In accordance with the Statute on mark of conformity of SMS approved by the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping, after its transferring the mark can be used by the North-Western Basin Branch in labeling:
- advertising and information materials, publications, sign boards, exhibits at trade shows, seminars, conferences, trade fairs, etc.;
- accompanying technical documentation and official forms;
- business cards of the branch employees involved in the safety management system sphere of activity.
