International Regatta Ust-Luga Cup 2013

The solemn closing ceremony of the international regatta Ust-Luga Cup 2013 was held on 14 June, 2013 in Saint-Petersburg.
 
Having started on June 5 in Stockholm, Sweden, the regatta united 10 teams representing various companies of the North-West region. Among the participants was the FSUE “Rosmorport” team on its yacht named Solitaire.

The yachts covered the distance of more than 500 sea miles. On their way to the finish the yachtsmen called at the seaports of Sweden, Finland, Estonia and Russia, including the famous sailing capitals of Sandhamn, Mariehamn, and Hanko.

The team of FSUE “Rosmorport” took the third place overall. Only because of the technical problems with the yacht, which the enterprise team experienced at the final stage of the regatta, they let the team of JSC Rosterminalugol proceed and take the second place. The yachtsmen of the CJSC SMM team achieved a flawless victory.

The beginning of the awards ceremony was marked with a bright sailing parade on the Neva river comprising 20 yachts of the two regattas – the Ust-Luga Cup, and Adventure Race 80 dg. The awards ceremony was held on the Krestovsky island, where all the yachts were moored. Chairman of the Organizing Committee Valery Izraylit and Deputy Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation Viktor Olersky presented cups and medals to the winners of the regatta.

The Ust-Luga Cup regatta was held for the second year in a row. It was held for the first time in 2012 in commemoration of the 10th anniversary of one of the largest seaports of Russia, the Ust-Luga Seaport.
Last year the team of FSUE “Rosmorport” took the fifth place overall.
