Discussing navigational and hydrographic provision of the seaports water areas and their approaches

In late July a meeting with officials responsible for navigational and hydrographic provision of the seaports water areas and their approaches headed by V.Y. Vanyukov, Deputy General Director on Navigation Safety of FSUE “Rosmorport”, was conducted in the Kaliningrad Department of the FSUE “Rosmorport” North-West Basin Branch.

Among the participants of the meeting were V.G. Belyaev, captain of Kaliningrad seaport, and experts from all branches of the enterprise. During the meeting a unified system approach in arrangement of navigational and hydrographic provision of shipping was formed. The experts exchanged their experience in conducting navigational and hydrographic provision activities in the branches.

Chiefs of the specialized departments reported the work done and the plans for 2013, discussed issues in the flied of management of the departments and services, in particular, issues of reception of navigational aids from the military divisions of the Russian Defense Ministry.

From 2011 FSUE “Rosmorport” has been arranging and conducting activities aimed at implementation of the Federal law dated 14.06.2011 № 141-ФЗ, as related to securing navigational equipment to the enterprise.

The agreed decision of the Ministry of Transport and the Defense Ministry of Russia stipulates securing of floating navigational aids (392 sea buoys and milestones) to FSUE “Rosmorport” in 2012, and coastal navigational equipment (325 lighthouses, lights and signs) by 2015.

The corresponding order dated 19.07.2012 № 1983 on release of movable property (warning signs) was signed by the Minister of Defense of Russia.

The participants of the meeting were made acquainted with the navigational equipment of Kaliningrad sea canal, a modern automated measuring system based on a multi-beam echo sounder and the VTS system of Kaliningrad seaport secured to the Kaliningrad Department of the FSUE “Rosmorport” North-West Basin Branch.
