«Ust-Luga Cup» Regatta results

On June, 14 in Saint Petersburg's yacht club on Krestovskiy Island a solemn closing ceremony of the «Ust-Luga Cup» regatta went off. The regatta was devoted to the 10th anniversary of the sea port of Ust-Luga. Competitions were held on 46-53 feet cruising yachts under control of professional skippers from Russia and Sweden. The route of the regatta ran between the biggest ports of the Baltic Sea: Stockholm, Hanko, Tallin and the Big Port of Saint Petersburg. During the race amateur yachtsmen covered the distance of more then 450 nautical miles.

The regatta was participated by 7 teams - representatives of biggest Russian companies: the FSUE "Rosmorport", "Ust-Luga Company", "Oktyabrskaya Railways", "PUL-Trans", "Ust-Luga Commercial Sea Port", "SMM", "Rosterminalugol" and Saint Petersburg jounalists team.

The FSUE "Rosmorport" team was performed on Evita, Bavaria 46 yacht. The yacht was under captain Skott Lakei (Sweden) and co-captain Mikhail Pankratov (Russia) control. Other crew members were:
• Petr Grigoriev – the head of the General Department;
• Mikhail Markovich – Pilotage Service senior dispatcher;
• Vasiliy Okunev – deputy head of the Fleet Assessment and Planning Division;
• Ivan Shpakiv – Fairways Maintenance and Development Division main specialist;
• Aleksey Shulekin – Depth Control Group main specialist.

During the race crews' skills was constantly improving, thereby increasing the intensity of the struggle for prize-winning places. The final classification became clear only when yachts have crossed the finish line in Tallin. FSUE "Rosmorport" gained 27 points and took the fifth, prize-winning, place.

After successful finish of the regatta, it's organizers expressed the hope that the event would become a traditional competition, uniting the ports of different regions of Russia and foreign countries.
