Due to winter navigation opening “Kapitan Zarubin” and “Semen Dezhnev” icebreakers were sent to drive away ice brash in the Kronstadt roads and Sea Channel in the water area of the Greater Port Saint Petersburg. “Kapitan M. Izmailov” icebreaker was sent to the Gulf of Finland for heavy-load tankers pilotage near the seports of Vyborg and Vysotsk.

By the order of the FSUE “Rosmorport” Saint-Petersburg branch director “Mudyug” and “Karu” icebreakers were set to 24 hours readiness because of heavy ice conditions in the Gulf of Finland.
