During 20-22 February 2011 V.Y. Vanyukov, deputy General director of FSUE “Rosmorport” for navigation safety, visited Sakhalin Island on a working trip.

The visit was aimed to discuss the issues of safety navigation in the Strait of Tartary, Aniva Bay and in the Kuril Islands region. V.Y. Vanyukov held the meeting with a senior management of the FSUE “Rosmorport” Sakhalin branch and FSE “Administration of Seaport of Sakhalin”; with representatives of Sakhalin region Ministry of Transport, FSUE “Federal State Unitary Enterprise of Marine Communications and Monitoring (FEMCOM)” and Sakhalin Coast Guard Border Department of the Federal Security Service of Russia. The meeting discussed the issues of the construction of navigation safety system facilities on the Cape Crillon, in Novikovo village, on the Novaya Mountain and Moneron Island, in the seaports of Kholmsk, Nevelsk, Shakhtersk, and on the Kuril Islands. During his visit V.Y. Vanyukov visited the seaports of Nevelsk, Kholmsk and Korsakov, and inspected the Aniva Bay VTS Center operation.
