Following the survey, conducted by the Russian Classification Society (RCS), the FSUE “Rosmorport” Arkhangelsk Branch has received recognition certificate dated 17.11.2023 No. 12682 which recognizes that the branch performs the following works in accordance with the requirements of the RCS:

- repair, installation and commissioning of marine communication means, navigation equipment, equipment of the Global Maritime Distress and Safety Communication System (GMDSS), carrying out tests on vessels with production of compliant paperwork;

- maintenance, programming, inspections and onshore maintenance of radio communications equipment (including GMDSS, emergency radio buoys of COSPAS-SARSAT systems, search and rescue locating devices), automatic identification system (AIS) equipment, navigation equipment with production of compliant paperwork.

Having received the certificate, the Arkhangelsk Branch will now be able independently, without involving third-party organizations, to carry out the entire range of work on annual maintenance and testing of radio and navigation equipment, including GMDSS radio equipment on vessels of the Arkhangelsk Branch with the RCS class. This will significantly reduce the costs of the branch for these purposes, and improve the quality and efficiency of such work.

In the near future, the Arkhangelsk Branch plans, if the relevant services are in demand, to provide them and perform work on maintenance of marine radio and navigation equipment in the interests of shipowners on a commercial basis.
