Solemn event held to mark the 405th anniversary of the Pilot Service

A solemn event was held in the Voronin Arctic Maritime Institute on November 23, 2018 to mark the 405th anniversary of the Pilot Service.

The solemn event was attended by representatives of the Arkhangelsk Seaport Captain Service of FSBI “The Administration of West Arctic Seaports”, pilots and veterans of the FSUE “Rosmorport” Arkhangelsk Branch representing the oldest pilot service in Russia, the management and cadets of Voronin Arctic Maritime Institute, and cadets of the Arkhangelsk Naval College.

Addressing the participants in the event, director of the Voronin Arctic Maritime Institute Sergei Parubets congratulated the audience on the jubilee and wished all pilots further success in their non-easy work.

On behalf of the FSUE “Rosmorport” Arkhangelsk Branch deputy director for navigation safety Vasily Ilyin congratulated the audience on the jubilee and gave certificates of merit and letters of gratitude to pilots of the Arkhangelsk Branch for the success in their difficult work.

During the celebrations, pilots of the FSUE “Rosmorport” Branch met cadets of the Voronin Arctic Maritime Institute and cadets of the Arkhangelsk Naval College to speak about the branch’s Pilot Service and the specifics of the profession. They shared views on pilotage operations.

The organizers of the event showed documentaries from the history of Russia’s Pilot Service. The band, the Scarlet Sails ballroom dance studio of the Voronin Arctic Maritime Institute and the La Jeunesse dance troupe of the Northern Arctic Federal University showed workmanship and artisanship during a solemn meeting.
