On October 24 and 26, 2023 FSUE “Rosmorport” Astrakhan Branch organized excursions to the Kapitan Metsayk, icebreaker of the branch, for the cadets of the Caspian Institute of Maritime and River Transport named after Admiral General F.M. Apraksin - branch of the Volga State University of Water Transport. The events were held for the purpose of practical familiarization of students with the vessel's structure and equipment.

Sergey Volgin, captain of the icebreaker, and Kirill Telegin, senior electrician, told the cadets about the features of the vessel's structure, the equipment of the navigation bridge and of the engine room, as well as about the main technical characteristics of icebreakers operating on the Volga-Caspian Sea Shipping Channel and in the seaports of Astrakhan and Olya.

Such events can help the cadets to form a conscious and well-founded choice in their further professional development, to get a direct insight into the intricacies of their chosen specialties.

It should be noted that the branch has been actively cooperating with specialized educational institutions of the city of Astrakhan for a long time in order to form the personnel reserve of the branch. For the students of specialized educational institutions of the region, cadets industrial practice is organized annually in order to provide them with practical knowledge and skills.
