Next Stage Of Construction Of Severnaya Dvina Dredging Vessel Completed

On April 14, 2016 Severnaya Dvina dredging vessel started from the waters of “Song Thu Corporation” Danang shipyard (Vietnam) for Rotterdam (Netherlands) to perform final testing of the dredging equipment.

The launch of the dredger hull was held in November, 2015, after which series of outfitting works and tests, confirming vessels characteristics, were conducted. The voyage to Netherlands will take about 40 days. In Rotterdam dredging equipment on Severnaya Dvina will be configured and adjusted, as well as as tested in the water.

The completion of the construction and dredger transfer to the FSUE “Rosmorport” Arkhangels Branch are expected in June. The dredger is planned to be used by the branch for maintenance of navigation depths and ensuring safety of navigation in the water area and approaches to the seaport of Arkhangelsk.

The project of dredger with hopper capacity of 2000 cubic meters meets the highest modern requirements of operation in severe climatic conditions of the Northern region. Severnaya Dvina is able to operate in a range of ambient temperature from -35°C to + 40°C. The dredger is equipped with the necessary high-performance dredging equipment and additional equipment, allowing to carry out dredging in the limited areas near piers and berths.

Technical characteristics of the vessel:

Length overall  80,35 m
Length between perpendiculars     76,1 m
Width  16,2 m
Draft at dredging  5,1 m
Maximum excavation depth  22 m
Hopper capacity  2000 cubic m
