FSUE “Rosmorport” selects the contracting party to build international sea terminal in Pionersky

On October 31, 2017 FSUE “Rosmorport” announced a tender offer with the qualified participation for choosing an organization with the right of entering into a state contract to work out design documentation and carry out works on the project, “The Construction of Seaport Infrastructure in Kaliningrad Seaport. International Sea Terminal for Receiving Cruise and Passenger Vessels in Pionersky town, Kaliningrad Region”.

The construction of the facility envisages
- forming a 5.16 ha artificial area;
- carrying out dredging operations in the amount of over 1.2 million cubic meters and the seabed levels of up to 10.9 meters;
- installing a protection hydraulic structures of 771 meters in length;
- constructing two berths with the berth space of 725 meters for processing design cruise vessels with the dimensions of 317.25 meters in length, 36.8 meters in breadth and 8.3 meters in draft, as well as ferryboats with the dimensions of 211.5 meters in length, 30.4 meters in breadth and 7.5 meters in draft;
- constructing a berth for vessels of the port fleet of 110.2 meters in length;
- constructing coastal facilities of the sea terminal, including buildings of a passenger terminal, port structures and facilities of a passenger crossing point through Russia’s state border;
- constructing engineering support facilities of the sea terminal and installing aids to navigation.

The new sea terminal in Pionersky will allow for an opportunity to provide maximum passenger flow in the amount of up to 305.000 people per year and maximum freight flow in the amount of up to 80.000 pieces of cargo transport per year. This will finally facilitate the dynamic development of the Kaliningrad region in sea ferry and cruise shipping.

In December 2016 the State Expert Appraisal Board provided Positive Findings No 1482-16/GGE-10751/04 of December 29, 2016 on this project. Under Rosmorrechflot Resolution No AP-14-r of February 02, 2017 design and estimate construction documentation has been approved.
