FSUE "Rosmorport" summed up the results of its activities for 2021

On March 29, 2022 FSUE "Rosmorport" summed up the results of its activities for 2021 and defined the key objectives and activities for 2022 at the meeting with the management of the company and directors of branches.

General director of FSUE "Rosmorport" Sergey Pylin focused on a number of achievements of the company for the past year. Despite the continuing impact of the effects of the coronavirus pandemic in 2021, the investment program at the expense of the own funds of the company was implemented at a record rate in the history of FSUE "Rosmorport". At the same time, half of the investments are aimed at financing the activities included in the Comprehensive Plan for the Modernization and Expansion of the Main Infrastructure (CPMI). The volume of execution of budget allocations for construction financed from the federal budget in 2021 exceeded 99%.

Four vessels were added to the company's fleet, including Russia's first dual-fuel ferry, Marshal Rokossovsky, which began service on the Ust-Luga - Baltiysk line on March 4, 2022.

The volume of repair dredging in 2021 amounted to 7.6 million cubic meters - the navigation parameters were provided by the enterprise on 42 hydraulic structures, and 90 % of the volume of work was performed by the forces and equipment of FSUE "Rosmorport".

In 2021, the consequences of the coronavirus pandemic continued to affect the operating and financial performance of FSUE "Rosmorport". Cargo turnover at seaports reached 835 million tons, it is a little below the pre-pandemic 2019 level. Ship turnover and the number of vessels served decreased by 4.3 % and 5.3 %, respectively, compared to 2020, and their total gross tonnage (GT) decreased by 3%.

The total revenue was received by the company in the amount of 34.4 billion rubles, the net profit for 2021 doubled and amounted to 1 billion rubles, and the EBITDA reached the mark of 8 billion rubles.

The head of FSUE "Rosmorport" noted that against the background of 2021 this year will be associated with much more difficult challenges for the company. In the current geopolitical and economic situation it is necessary to combine efforts to form a set of measures to ensure the stable functioning of both the enterprise and the industry as a whole.

The work of FSUE "Rosmorport" must be focused primarily on the search for internal reserves to improve efficiency: the company is conducting a global review of the activity program for 2022, prioritizing the planned activities and taking into account the expected decline in the revenue base. The company also prepared and sent to the Ministry of Transport of Russia a number of proposals for the inclusion of industry support measures in the Plan of priority actions to ensure the development of the economy under external pressure.

"The team approach, a clear prioritization of tasks taking into account the dynamically changing economic conditions and geopolitical circumstances - I see this as a guarantee of our successful overcoming of any external challenges. I am sure that we will pass this year with the same dignity, having kept the leading positions of the company in the industry, its high economic potential and, the main thing, professional and reliable staff", - noted the General director of FSUE "Rosmorport" Sergey Pylin during the meeting.
