The first summer shift at the Children's Center "Okean" with the participation of the "My Port" project winners comes to an end
The summer season "#VolnaUspeha" came to an end at the All-Russian Children's Center "Okean". Within its framework, the field-oriented program "On the Seas Around the Earth" with the participation of the "My Port" competition winners was successfully implemented.
This program brought together children who want to study the history of navigation. Participants learnt about domestic studies of the oceans and seas from the first military and trade voyages of the ancient Slavs to the discoveries of Soviet scientists. Children learned mysterious facts about the discovery of all the oceans of the planet and found out why there is an opinion that the Southern Ocean is a full-fledged part of the World Ocean.
Also the young researchers of the thematic program received basic knowledge on the maritime industry and practical skills in this industry within the daily classes of the "Young Sailor" course. The course program included rigging, Morse alphabet, semaphore alphabet, Optimist dinghy handling and marine practice on YAL-6 boats.
