FSUE "Rosmorport" accepts the Smelaya self-propelled hopper

After the successful completion of sea trials, FSUE "Rosmorport" accepted the Smelaya self-propelled hopper, built by order of the enterprise at JSC "Onego Shipyard".

During the tests, the commission checked the working condition of the equipment, as well as the main operating characteristics, the functioning of automation, navigation and communication facilities. The vessel showed full readiness for work.

The Smelaya self-propelled two-screw hopper of the KM Ice1 R3-RSN AUT3 Hopper class, built at JSC "Onego Shipyard" by the order of FSUE "Rosmorport", is designed for transportation of soil from dredgers to dumping sites during dredging operations as part of dredging convoys with a scoop or suction dredger.

The vessel has a modular hull and container-type main power plant. The modular method of building the hull allows to:
- simplify the shape of the hull contours;
- tie in (insert) an additional compartment (hold) with a volume of up to 300 cubic meters;
- place the engine room on the upper deck.

The hopper is equipped with a bottom hull opening system. The main engines are placed in the stern of the vessel in protective hoods, which allow to promptly maintain and perform aggregate replacement of mechanisms. Steerable propellers are located outside the hull and have the ability to adjust the screw depth and lift screws from water for maintenance and repair afloat without docking the vessel. The vessels of this project are designed to work in the Azov-Black Sea, Caspian and Baltic basins.

The homeport of the Smelaya hopper is the seaport of Astrakhan.

The basic dimensions of the vessel:

- maximum length:  56.10 m
- maximum width:  11.2 m
- depth at the midship frame:
4.00 m
- draft by load line:
2.92 m
- volume of the cargo hold:
600 m3
- full displacement:
about 1540 t
- Rate of sailing:
about 8.2 knots
- power of the main engines:
2х350 kW
- generator power:
2х100,1х30 kW
- crew:
3 people
- autonomy by water reserves, provisions:
5 days
