FSUE “Rosmorport” icebreaker carried out the first pilotage operation of 2020-2021 winter season in the seaport of Arkhangelsk

FSUE “Rosmorport” icebreaker Kapitan Chadaev carried out the first pilotage operation of the winter season 2020-2021 in the seaport of Arkhangelsk. The operation took place on December 14.

The first vessel that required icebreaker assistance during the winter navigation period of 2020-2021 in the seaport of Arkhangelsk was the bulk-carrier DINTELBORG (flag of the Netherlands). The icebreaker also created an ice channel to allow the RN PRIVODINO tanker enter the seaport of Arkhangelsk for oil stowage.

During the winter navigation period, pilotage services in the FSUE “Rosmorport” Arkhangelsk Branch seaports will be provided by four icebreakers: Kapitan Chadaev, Dikson, Kapitan Kosolapov, and Kapitan Evdokimov.

In 2020, FSUE “Rosmorport” began to carry out icebreaking operations on December 7. The icebreaking group of FSUE “Rosmorport” is the largest in the world. The enterprise fleet includes 36 icebreakers and icebreaker tugs of various capacities in total, which provide pilotage services in 15 freezing Russian seaports. The main part of FSUE “Rosmorport” icebreakers is prepared for winter.
