Cargo turnover in Russian seaports for 11 months of this year decreased by 2.3%, to 750.73 million tons compared to the same period in 2019. Decrease in cargo turnover in Russian seaports over 10 months amounted to 3%. The reduction in the backlog became possible due to an increase in transshipment in November 2020 compared to November 2019 by 5%, to 68.8 million tons amid an increase in transshipment of dry cargoes (mainly coal, coke, grain, ore, scrap metal).

At the same time, the revenue of FSUE “Rosmorport” from port fees in November exceeded the result of November 2019 by 2% due to an increase in volume terms of serviced vessels by 5.4%, to 156.6 million GT. At the same time, transportation by foreign vessels decreased by 1%, while transportation by coastal vessels increased by 38%.

The increase of volume indicators of serviced vessels compared to November of the last year became possible due to an increase in cargo turnover of grain cargo in the seaports of Rostov-on-Don, Azov, Novorossiysk and Kavkaz, increase in cargo turnover of coal and coke in the seaports of Ust-Luga, Taman, Vanino and Shakhtersk, and container turnover in the seaport of Novorossiysk.

For example, coal and coke transshipment in Ust-Luga increased by 28%, to 3.67 million tons, in Taman – by 11.4 times, to 1.3 million tons, and in the seaport of Shakhtersk – by 2.6 times, to 1.06 million tons. Grain transshipment in the seaport of the Kavkaz increased by 9 times, to 868 thousand tons, while container turnover in the seaport of Novorossiysk increased by 17.3%, to 861 thousand tons. The transshipment of oil products in the seaports of Rostov-on-Don and Azov increased by 40%, to 331 thousand tons.

The number of pilotage operations carried out by FSUE “Rosmorport” in November 2020 increased by 2%, to 14,843 operations following an increase in the number of port calls.
