The Far Eastern Basin Branch of FSUE “Rosmorport”, within the framework of an agreement with LLC Shipbuilding Complex “Zvezda”, carried out dredging works in the Bolshoi Kamen bay to complete the IV stage of the shipyard construction.

The device of the entrance channel intended for the installation of a gate caisson (watertight closure) of the dry dock was carried out using a dredging convoy consisting of 7 vessels: two dredging shovels – Sakhalinets and "Primorets, four self-propelled scows and a support warping hawser Vostok. The scope of dredging operations amounted to more than 70 thousand cubic meters of excavated bottom soil.

As part of the second stage of work, the Branch's dredging fleet disassembled off a part of the temporary dry dock dam, and also dredged the water area of ​​the Bolshoy Kamen Bay on an area of ​​11 thousand square meters with bringing the bottom marks from -12.5 (at the entrance channel to the dry dock) to -16 meters (in the water area of ​​the bay). The scope of dredging operations amounted to more than 80 thousand cubic meters of excavated bottom soil.

The extracted bottom soil with a total volume of more than 150 thousand cubic meters was transported and stored at the sea dump in the Ussuri Bay in accordance with the project documentation and the permit issued by Rosprirodnadzor.
