The students of the children’s camp “Shtormovoy” (All-Russian Children Center «Orlyonok”) will learn to determine time by the sun, atmospheric pressure and air humidity. The weather station presented by FSUE “Rosmorport” in honor of the 60^th anniversary of “Orlyonok” has already started its work. It is located in a specialized marine auditorium, created with the support of the enterprise during the anniversary year for the children’s center.

In a well-equipped auditorium, the children will attend classes «Young Meteorologist» and learn to conduct meteorological observations. For example, they will be able to independently determine the current maximum and minimum daily air and water temperature, humidity and pressure, assess the meteorological situation before going out to sea on sailing boats “YAL-6”.

The students of “Shtormovoy” will also try their hand at leading the weather forecast, said the head of the children's camp “Shtormovoy” Bogdan Kucherenko:

“The result of these lessons will be not only the knowledge and skills of teenagers, but also a new section in our VK group (Vkontakte) with information about the weather in the children's camp “Shtormovoy”, which will be implemented together with children - members of the Young correspondents council. From the 10th shift the children will start recording their own video news and weather forecasts with daily broadcasts on a wide screen”.

In addition, the camp has been equipped with high-performance monoblocks and action cameras. Now children studying the course “Marine ecologist” will be able to get acquainted with underwater inhabitants of the Black Sea, record and assemble short videos about them.
