The FSUE “Rosmorport” project for the reconstruction of the facility "Reinforcement of the northern canal bank" of the Kaliningrad Seaway Canal has received a positive opinion from FAI Glavgosexpertiza of Russia on August 3, 2020. The compliance of design documentation with the results of engineering surveys, technical regulation requirements and other characteristics has been confirmed, and the estimated cost of the facility has been approved.

It is planned to begin the reconstruction of the "Reinforcement of the northern canal bank" of the Kaliningrad Seaway Canal in 2021.

The main objective of the reconstruction consists in prevention of the canal body collapse, as well as accumulation of ice and bottom sediments from the Primorsky Bay, which will provide safety of navigation and reduce the volume of annual work in the field of bottom dredging.

It is planned to implement the project with the involvement of the federal budget as part of the implementation of the Comprehensive Plan for the Modernization and Expansion of the Trunk Infrastructure, approved by the Government of the Russian Federation.
