FSUE “Rosmorport” submits fleet development projects to Russian transport minister

Russian Transport Minister Yevgeny Ditrikh visited a stand of FSUE “Rosmorport” within the exhibition “Transport of Russia 2018” on November 21, 2018.

FSUE “Rosmorport” General Director Andrey Lavrishchev submitted modern projects for constructing vessels to the Russian transport minister. The vessels are built by order of FSUE “Rosmorport”.

The stand showed a shallow draft icebreaker model of project 22740 M. At present, an agreement has been concluded at the Zvezda shipyard and project documentation have been worked out. Andrey Lavrishchev riveted attention to a vessel’s key particulars.

The key particulars of the shallow draft icebreaker are its high maneuverability and power on screws (no less than 6 MW), the high level of automation (it meets the AUT1-ICS level). Such characteristics envision an integrated technology management system aboard the vessel. The range of automation helps operate a mechanical installation without the permanent presence of personnel in machine rooms and the central control post.

Vessels of such project are designed for providing icebreaker support during the winter navigation, escorting convoys of vessels in ice conditions, carrying out icebreaker operations at ports and areas adjacent to them, towing vessels and other floating structures in ice conditions, and rendering aid to vessels in distress and extinguishing fires on them.

The minister was demonstrated a draft design of the Ust-Luga – Baltiysk vehicular railway ferry of a new generation.

The vessel of project CNF-19M is designed for transporting railway trains and other rolling cargoes. The construction particularity of the vessel is to use liquefied natural gas or diesel fuel on it with below-average sulphur for the power unit of the ferry that will allow for reducing gas emissions to the atmosphere and costs of operation.

The fact that the ferry is scheduled for putting into operation in 2020 will allow for reorienting certain cargo traffic to the region and out of it by railways on the territories of the Republic of Belarus and the Lithuanian Republic, and carrying cargoes in the volume necessary for domestic consumption.

A work boat design (a work boat with the hybrid energy unit of project ST23WIM-H) has been presented at the exposition. The boat has seven work modes, including on accumulator batteries of high capacity without running main engines and diesel generators. Parallel to the construction of the boat FSUE “Rosmorport” conducts research works during which new design solutions are developed with the use of Russian-made equipment. This will allow for obtaining higher characteristics and make the project effective.
