New sludge barge will be built at Onego Shipyard

A keel laying ceremony was held at the Onego Shipyard in Petrozavodsk on December 14, 2018 to build a new sludge barge (a self-propelled barge) of HB-600 Project.

The ceremony was attended by Russian Transport Minister Yevgeny Ditrich, Russian Deputy Economic Development Minister Ilya Torosov, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Karelia Dmitry Rodionov, FSUE “Rosmorport” General Director Andrei Lavrishchev, director of the Onego Shipyard Vladimir Maizus and other officials.

Under the contract, two barges are planned to be built by FSUE “Rosmorport” order. The barges are planned to be used in the seaport of Novorossiysk.

A modular concept will be used to construct the vessel’s body that will allow for reduce costs and simplify the installation of additional equipment, reduce costs during its operation and replacement. Two diesel aggregates of container types that will be used as a propulsive unit are installed on deck, on the stern of the barge that will makes it possible to make examinations and repairs of rudder propellers without docking the barges. The project envisions simple stern lines.

The vessels are designed at Spetssudproject, CJSC and they will be built by supervision and in compliance with the requirements of Russia’s Registry of Shipping for KM Ice1 R3-RSN AUT3 Hopper Class.

Under the project, the Onego Shipyard has built two vessels with the hold volume of 600 cubic meters. These are the Trudovaya and the Silnaya barges.
