FSUE “Rosmorport” management takes part in congress “Hydraulic Facilities and Dredging Operations”

The FSUE “Rosmorport” management took part in a congress “Hydraulic Facilities and Dredging Operations” held in Moscow on February 20-21, 2019.

The congress focused on modern technology for carrying out dredging and hydraulic operations at the seaports. The discussions involved Rosmorrechflot deputy head Nadezhda Zhikhareva, FSUE “Rosmorport” General Director Andrey Lavrishchev, the deputies to the FSUE “Rosmorport” General Director and employees of the FSUE “Rosmorport” central office and its branches, as well as representatives of Russia’s Federal Agency for Fishery, the Rosatom State Corporation, FSUE “Natsrybresurs”, the Ministry of Industry and Trade and key dredging companies.

On the first day of the congress Andrey Lavrishchev gave a report “Promising Projects for the Development of the Seaport Infrastructure, Including the Construction of Hydraulic Facilities and Dredging Operations”. In his speech he noted that as of today Russia’s seaports comprised over 892 port complexes in 67 seaports with total capacity of over one billion tons. The berth space amounts to about 148.000 linear meters.

At present, the enterprise implements three key projects aimed at building sea terminals:
- a project for constructing an international terminal to receive cruise and cargo passenger vessels in Pionersky, Kaliningrad Region;
- a project for constructing the coastal and sea infrastructure in the seaport of Gelendzhik;
- a project for building a transport transshipping hub for coal handling in the Muchke Bay (dredging operations).

These are the projects, the purposes of which are to create protecting, coast protection and berth structures, buildings and navigation safety facilities, and to carry out dredging operations.

“Every year FSUE ‘Rosmorport’ carries out dredging operations with the use of 18 dredgers, 12 sludge-disposal barges and other equipment. In 2018 the enterprise carried out repair dredging operations at 57 facilities in the amount of at least eight million cubic meters. Thus, as a whole navigational parameters have been provided with at over 360 underwater hydraulic facilities,” Lavrishchev said.

Deputy General Director for Fleet Vasily Strugov spoke in detail on the modern dredging fleet. At present, FSUE “Rosmorport” has 30 vessels carrying out dredging repair operations. The enterprise permanently increases the number of its own dredging and auxiliary equipment. If in 2015 the fleet comprised eight dredgers the middle age of which was 29 years, in 2018 the fleet was expanded by 10 dredgers. These were new highly productive vessels in the main. This made it possible to increase the bulk of its own equipment from 52% in 2015 to 70% in 2018.

In his report Strugov stressed that FSUE “Rosmorport” dredgers had operated in a steady way to make their use effective. In the ice conditions vessels are deployed in non-freezing seaports and return to a home seaport for the period of summer navigation.

The second day of the congress is devoted to improving the legal basis in the field of the construction of seaports, including during the operation and repair of ports’ hydraulic facilities. Besides that, the participants in the congress discuss modern technology in the field of hydraulic engineering and measures to ensure security of a port’s hydraulic facilities.
