Under FSUE “Rosmorport” Order No 144 of April 16, 2019, a standard “Carrying Out Dredging Operations in the Seaports and on the Approaches Toward it” StO 14649425-0005-2019 has been approved and put into operation.

The standard has been developed by the Federal State Budgetary Educational Institution of Military Education “Admiral Makarov State University of Marine and Inland Shipping” by order of FSUE “Rosmorport”. Specialists of dredging units of the FSUE “Rosmorport” branches and its management took part in the preparatory works.

This standard has become the first regulatory technical document in the field of dredging operations carried out pursuant to the principles and requirements of the national standardization system.

The necessity has been conditioned by the renunciation of outdated guiding documents and interdepartmental building regulations on carrying out dredging operations and specifying several requirements and provisions of regulatory documents on dredging operations.

The standard makes a synthesis of practical experience, modern experience, methods and approaches toward organizing the dredging process and covers the entire process to organize and carry out dredging operations from design engineering to an act of delivery and acceptance.

The document includes the requirements for meeting commitments to surveying the bottom contour (preliminary surveys and outsurveys) by a multibeam echo sounder. The boundaries of a section of dredging operations will be established. The common method for calculating preliminary works and performed operations.

The standard is designed as practice guidelines of the enterprise when carrying out dredging operations using its own resources and contracting organizations, and it is aimed at solving problems while carrying out dredging operations and determining their amount by the FSUE “Rosmorport” branches.
