A cadet initiation solemn ceremony was held in Sevastopol aboard the Khersones sailing ship September 7, 2019. Cadets of the Federal Station Budgetary Educational Institution of Military Education “Admiral Ushakov State Maritime University” has been held in Sevastopol.

This important day participants in the solemn ceremony have delivered graduation words for the cadets and warmly congratulated them on the graduation. The ceremony involved Rosmorrechflot deputy head Andrei Tarasenko, acting deputy governor, chairman of the government of Sevastopol Ivan Kusov, director of the FSUE “Rosmorport” Crimean Branch Andrei Filchakov, rector of the Federal Station Budgetary Educational Institution of Military Education “Admiral Ushakov State Maritime University” Sergei Kondratyev, director of the university branch Yuri Kornilov and representatives of the maritime public.

The participants in the holiday wished the success to cadets in mastering the selected profession and stressed the high prestige of one of the Russian leading transport higher educational institutions and its big contribution to educating the new generation of top-level specialists of maritime affairs.

During the ceremony, first year cadets oathed with pride and dignity to be committed to the university, the fleet and maritime traditions: they pledged to strictly comply with the Charter of the University, commanders’ orders, value cadets’ honors, get good grades, be honest with their mates and truly serve Motherland. Cadets’ cards have been given to future young sailors.

The youngest sailors – pupils of maritime classes of School No 36 of Sevastopol made an oath of future students of Admiral Ushakov State Maritime University.

Maritime songs and marches performed by the Black Sea Fleet orchestra made the ceremony solemn. The cadet initiation ceremony aboard the legendary Khersones sailing ship has become a clear and unforgettable event for everyone who took part in it.
