FSUE “Rosmorport” General Director takes part in opening exhibition “Transport of Russia. Trough Time to the Future”

An exhibition “Transport of Russia. Trough Time to the Future” timed to the 210th anniversary of the transport agency and the industry system of professional education opened in Moscow’s Contemporary History Museum on October 2, 2019.

The outreach project unites the unique documents, exhibits and models from the museum’s holdings, the industry museums of Russia’s Transport Ministry and private collections.

An excursion devoted to the tendencies of the development of Russia’s transport complex has been organized for honorable guests. Among them were Russian presidential adviser Igor Levitin, Transport Minister Yevgeny Ditrikh and Culture Minister Vladimir Medinsky. The visitors were made aware of the construction of major shipping canals and motor roads, the appearance of the first public railway, the development of national aeronautics, the construction of a metro, the struggle of workers of the transport industry during the Great Patriotic War and the Arctic exploration, and other interesting events in the history of transport. The exhibition also focused on prospects for the development of national transport in the forthcoming future.

The solemn event involved Andrei Lavrishchev, General Director of FSUE “Rosmorport” – the official partner of the exhibition.

The mounts of the exhibition are devoted to the enterprise’s participation in developing the transport industry and its seaport component.

The exposition also included exhibits devoted to projects for expanding the fleet of FSUE “Rosmorport” by modern icebreakers and auxiliary vessels, modernizing and reconstructing the port sector, and creating new seaports, which became the part of the history of the country’s transport industry.

The exhibition will be open till November 3, 2019.
