FSUE “Rosmorport” partner shift starts academic year in Artek school

On September 1, 2017 a new academic year started at the Artek International Children's Center.

On Knowledge Day the school of Artek hospitably opened its doors for children from all Russian regions. Among them were the winners of the FSUE “Rosmorport” children's competition, “My Port”.

A traditional festive parade took place. Children were welcomed and congratulated by the Director of the Federal State Budgetary Education Institution Artek International Children's Center Aleksey Kasprzhak and Director of the Artek school Natalya Tsarkova.

The educational process in the Artek Center includes not only fascinating classes, but also joint researches and projects, and studying outside the classroom. In addition to basic education at school, children can choose thematic educational programs, which are carried out at the center by specialists of high-tech companies and universities. Educational programs in the new school year will be held jointly with more than 70 thematic partners.

The educational program of the FSUE “Rosmorport” partner's shift is devoted to the sea and its resources, natural phenomena and the activity of human beings on coastal territories. In the course of studies, children will take part in creative and sportive events, meet interesting people and study maritime disciplines. The “port” concept runs like a golden thread through the enterprise's program. The port is the starting point for new discoveries, learning the world in all its diversity.

Long-standing friendship connects FSUE “Rosmorport” and the Artek International Children's Center. Specifically on the occasion of the celebrations marking the 90th anniversary of the Center, in 2015 FSUE “Rosmorport” restored the beaches of the Artek Center and donated six six-oar boats, which are used by young sailors for training under the partner's program.

The purpose of the education program of FSUE “Rosmorport” is to contribute to patriotic education of the young generation and strengthen respect for the glorious historical past of Russia as a naval power. The project has been worked out by a group of experts in the field of programs of additional education and it is aimed at promoting maritime professions and supporting maritime traditions.
