On June 27, 2017 the Federal Autonomous Institution State Expertise approved the project for building utility systems and constructions for the international sea terminal in the town of Pionersky, Kaliningrad Region.

This documentation has been developed under the order of the Pionersky town district administration within the agreement on cooperation between FSUE “Rosmorport” and the Government of Kaliningrad Region in designing facilities in accordance with the project for constructing the international sea terminal for reception of cruise and passenger vessels in the town of Pionersky, Kaliningrad Region.

The implementation of this project is necessary to connect the sea terminal to external utility systems. When building utility systems and constructions water conducts threads, sanitary sewerage networks and high pressure gas pipelines that will supply natural gas to the terminal will be laid.

The international sea terminal in Kaliningrad Region is one of the major infrastructural projects in the North-Western Federal District. The project is being realized by FSUE “Rosmorport” within the federal target program, “The Development of Russia's Transport System (2010-2020)”. Under the project, it is planned to build berths to receive cruise vessels with the maximal passenger traffic flow to the extent of 250,000 a year and the maximal freight flow to the extent of up to 80,000 pieces of freight transport per year that will facilitate the dynamic development of Kaliningrad Region in the sphere of sea ferry and cruise shipping.

The terminal will include berthing facilities, coast protections, fenders, underwater construction, artificial land lots, aids to navigation, border checkpoint facilities, the building of a passenger terminal, onshore constructions and sites.

In December 2016 the state expertise drew the positive conclusion, No 1482-16/GGE-10751/04, on this project. Under Rosmorrechflot Resolution No AP-14-r of February 02, 2017 construction documents have been approved.
